After spending over 15 years in the NHS, where I gained invaluable experience as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Independent Nurse Prescriber, I discovered my true calling in the field of aesthetics. In 2017, I began my training in medical aesthetics, and by 2021, I made the decision to fully transition into this exciting and rewarding career.
My passion for skin health, regeneration, and healthy ageing led me to open Better You Medical Aesthetics + Skin Clinic. My vision was clear: to create a clinic where patients could access advanced, medically led treatments in a safe, professional, and caring environment.

At BU Aesthetics™, we follow a medical model for aesthetic treatments, meaning the first step towards any cosmetic treatment is a thorough 45-minute consultation with one of our Independent Nurse Prescribers.
This is a complimentary appointment which gives you time to discuss your skin or anti-ageing concerns and receive advice, guidance and a bespoke treatment plan from a trained and qualified medical professional and advanced skincare practitioner.
We will take a full medical history to determine if you have any underlying medical conditions, or known allergies, or are taking any medication that could make you unsuitable or contraindicated for the treatment being considered, offering alternative options where available.
All aspects of treatment, including any risks, will be fully explained during your consultation, allowing you to ask questions and have the peace of mind to book your treatment appointment or take time to consider it.

Advanced Practitioner and Nurse Prescriber
Lydia is a highly skilled aesthetic practitioner and nurse prescriber with over five years of experience in the aesthetics industry. With a strong academic foundation, she holds a Master’s degree in Biomedical Science, where she developed a deep appreciation for the science behind ageing and regenerative therapies—an interest that continues to shape her evidence-based approach to patient care.
Alongside her work in aesthetics, Lydia remains an active registered nurse with the NMC, currently working in dementia care. This ongoing clinical experience reflects her commitment to compassionate, patient-centred practice across all aspects of healthcare.
Lydia is passionate about helping her patients feel confident in themselves, believing that true results come from both physical transformation and emotional wellbeing. She prides herself on building trusting, long-term relationships, guiding each individual through a personalised journey. Through education, tailored treatment plans, and carefully implemented protocols, Lydia works to transform not only her patients’ skin and facial aesthetics, but also how they feel about themselves.

Melissa is an experienced Advanced Practitioner with over 20 years in the beauty industry. Holding a Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Beauty Therapy, she specialises in delivering high-quality, results-driven treatments tailored to each individual client.
Melissa’s approach is centred around helping clients feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. She combines the use of medical-grade skincare with a touch of holistic therapies, creating a unique balance between advanced treatment and deep relaxation.

Originally from Glasgow, I recently made the move and am delighted to be part of the team as Clinic Coordinator. With over 11 years of experience in private and cosmetic dentistry, I have always loved working closely with patients and helping them feel comfortable, confident, and cared for throughout their journey.
Alongside my dental career, I developed a passion for facial aesthetics, giving me a strong understanding of the treatments we offer and the positive impact they can have on both confidence and wellbeing.
